Laura & Cynthia's Pledge Page

Four feet--two hearts--one mission!

Hi. My name is Laura Tevaga. I’m a mother of two kids and I work as a supervisor at a local call center. As you can see, I pretty much lead an ordinary life. Unfortunately there are a lot of people out there who aren't so ordinary because they are afflicted by a terminal disease which they have no control over; only the hope for a cure.

That's where I come in. I may be ordinary but I can do extraordinary things. And while I may not be able to find a cure for cancer, I can still make a difference one "step" at a time. My younger sister, Cynthia, has decided that she wants to help out too. And that's just what we’re going to do by making a personal commitment to train for and complete the Suzuki Rock ’n’ Roll Marathon in San Diego June 2004. More importantly we have pledged to raise $6,600 in donations to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society through their Team in Training (TNT) program.

But hey, like I said we're only two ordinary girls. We're going to need a lot of help to make this happen. We're willing and eager to do the work and dedicate our time but we need the support of our family, friends, and local community.

Our mission ultimately is not only to raise money for the society but also to increase awareness of this amazing program. The money that TNT participants raise goes to aid researchers in their race to find a cure. The money also funds family support groups and the Patient Aid Program.

If you would like to help us in our mission, we will gratefully accept any donation, large or small. There are numerous ways in which you can show you support:

1: Personal Donation - Click on the "Donate" link on the left to give right now.

2: Donate items for auction or raffle - Contact me by email at laura_moana@hotmail.com.

3: Partcipate in fundraising events that will be held throughout the year, calendar coming soon.

4. Tell your friends and spread the word. We would be happy to walk in behalf of any survivors or others that you know who may have been effected by this horrible disease.

Thank you in advance for your support. Be sure to sign the guest book and remember to check back often to watch our progress.

Laura
